Tasks
The Section of Battipaglia develops researches in field and in
laboratory. The researches are about cultural technique, phytopathology and
microbiology of industrial crops principally cultivated in Southern Italy: tomato,
potato, grain leguminous (bean, pea, chick pea, lentil), sugar-beet, oil plants
(sunflower, safflower, crambe) and plants for fibre and cellulose (hemp, flax,
kenaf).
Research area and specialization
The principal research areas are conservation of horticultural
germplasm, valorisation of typical product and study of agronomic techniques
with low input. All the researches are performed by national and international
public project.
